Dubai Police are urging recovery vehicle operators to follow strict safety procedures following the death of a tow truck driver in an unloading accident.
The man died at the scene after a vehicle fell during the unloading process in Al Qusais industrial area.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, said the accident happened because of negligence and failure to follow occupational safety measures.
He said preliminary investigations indicate there was a misjudgement while operating the crane and the vehicle carrier was not properly secured.
Traffic patrols and accident experts were immediately dispatched to the scene to collect evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, while emergency teams managed traffic and responded quickly at the site.
Dubai Police says the incident highlights the serious risks of ignoring safety procedures during transport and loading operations, both on roads and at work sites.
Authorities are now renewing calls for full compliance with safety standards when handling heavy equipment to prevent similar incidents.
