Turkey has refuted allegations, circulating on social media, of the UAE's involvement in unlawful espionage activity in Istanbul, with the Turkish Attorney General describing it as "categorically false".
The UAE Attorney General issued a statement following a call with his Turkish counterpart on Thursday.
It said the Turkish official denied UAE's links after reviewing the information with security officials at Istanbul's prosecution office.
It added that the Turkish Public Prosecution affirmed there is no unlawful activity or suspicious conduct attributed to the UAE or its citizens, and instructed relevant authorities to remove all media and social media reports pertaining to the incident.
The UAE Attorney General also commended the statement issued by Turkish Minister of Justice earlier, dismissing any UAE links to the ongoing investigations in Istanbul.
He also added that Turkey's response demonstrates its authorities' commitment to clarify the facts and prevent the spread of rumours.
Both sides also discussed strengthening judicial cooperation and enhancing communication channels.
