Etihad Rail’s new passenger train has completed a showcase journey from Abu Dhabi's Mohamed Bin Zayed City station to Dubai's Al Yalayis station a day ahead of the official launch.
During a behind-the-scenes trip, ARN News spoke exclusively to Maitha, Executive Development Chef at Capital Catering by ADNEC Group, about what will be on offer for the passengers.
Maitha also revealed a special chocolate initiative designed with each station in mind.
Meanwhile, Adhraa Al Mansoori, Etihad Rail Executive Director of Commercial and Support, highlighted the positive impact that the rail network will have on the UAE economy.
On Monday, the Abu Dhabi-Dubai rail link was inaugurated.
The Dubai station is linked to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station by a dedicated pedestrian bridge, allowing passengers to transfer directly between Etihad Rail and the Dubai Metro.
Integration with Dubai’s Nol system will also enable passengers to combine Etihad Rail and public transport journeys using a unified QR code, covering trains, the Metro, tram and buses.
Tickets can be purchased through the Etihad Rail app and website, as well as ticket machines at stations, with fares starting at AED 39 for Comfort Class and AED 109 for Premium Class.
