A street named after a late French President has been inaugurated in Abu Dhabi.
'Jacques Chirac Street' is one of Saadiyat Island's busiest main roads that stretches from Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Bridge to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, ordered that a street in the capital be named after the leader following his death in September.
Officials say Chirac was not only a friend of the UAE, but also a strong promoter of strategic relations between France and the emirates.
