Zayn Malik mourning grandma

Zayn Malik's grandmother has died. The former One Direction hunk has thanked fans for their support after the hashtag #ZaynStayStrong began trending on Twitter when news broke of his elderly relatives passing. He tweeted: "Thank you for your support and love.. My grandma was a beautiful person and will be missed dearly." The hashtag trended after an account, believed to belong to Zayn's younger sister Waliyha Azad, posted a tribute to their late grandmother. Alongside a picture of her late grandparents with her mother, it read: "RIP to my grandma. I love you more than anything in the world my angel. It was so hard to see you struggle the way you have been but I know you're in a better place now with my grandad. He'll be so happy to see you after so many years." The 22-year-old singer is famously very close to his family and admitted he always had huge phone bills when on tour because of his frequent calls home. He previously said: "I'm always on the phone to my mum, aunties and sisters. I have a big phone bill cos I'm silly when it comes to my mobile."
