The first-ever Emirati opera is set to launch at the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai.

Al Wasl will be performed in both Arabic and English.

It will explore the UAE's Bedouin roots and the country as a modern multi-cultural hub.

UAE nationals Mohammed Fairouz, an award-winning composer, and Maha Gargash, an author, will provide the music and dialogue for the two-hour production.

It's set to premiere in October of next year at the Dubai Opera, in line with the official opening of Expo 2020 Dubai.
