Emirates has opened a state-of-the-art flight crew training centre in Dubai, as part of the airline’s strategy to support its expanding fleet and prepare for the future of aviation.

The purpose-built facility spans more than 63,000 square feet and includes six full flight simulator bays. It will provide current and future pilots training on Airbus A350s and the airline's upcoming Boeing 777Xs.

The centre features cutting-edge tech, including a first-of-its-kind Pilot Support Station developed entirely in-house.

Prior to their training session, pilots can configure their flight deck, even build a flight plan, in a fully immersive environment using bespoke devices.

By streamlining preparation, pilots can maximise learning outcomes. Training sessions are fully recorded, enabling instructors to replay any moment to enhance performance review and learning.

Speaking about the launch, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, called the new centre a "gamechanger" and praised its role in Dubai’s growth as a global aviation hub.

"Every dirham of our AED 500 million investment is already delivering value," he added.

The training hub also includes advanced 3D printing capabilities to build complex components and structures that support Emirates’ training equipment across the campus, saving the airline up to AED 1 million a year.

With two A350 simulators already in use and four more on the way, including Boeing 777Xs simulators, the centre will eventually support 17 simulators across Emirates’ training network.

Each simulator has the capacity to deliver 7,500 hours of training for up to 1,000 pilots every year.
